REST DAY (day 2 – after completion)

Yesterday I spent all day in The Portable Workstation (aka ‘PWS'), in front of Le Passage 75001, hooked up to the electricity from the outside, setting up the computer and powering up the battery backup. Today is REST day, however, because my fingers are crying for a day off – they are swollen with cut wounds from the serrated bread knife I was using because I had no tools; and one cut went deep enough to scrape the nerve on my middle finger (funnily enough), causing me to lose two days sleep because of the pain.

My year’s of Martial Arts training has given me a high pain threshold but the downfall with that is not stopping when your body is asking you to – so today I took an intentional day off enjoying the cold sun kissing the picturesc gardens of the Louvre at rue Rivoli, 75001 – while my fingers continued throbbing with pain till lunchtime.

The only tools in my possession were, a screw driver, scissors that broke half way through and a serrated bread knife, I also found a very small screwdriver that's only useful for laptops... and I hand crafted the entire workstation (inside and out), with them tools.

People were watching with their mouths open and some laughed with absolute certainty that I'd fail to complete such a task with what I was using... little did they know that ‘WAR IS ALL ABOUT IMPROVISATION’ and this is the war waged against one woman who refuses to lie down.

‘...anybody can feel good when they have happy relationships and their bills are paid, anybody can have faith under those kind of circumstances, the real challenge of growth, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, is when you get knocked down... it takes courage to act, it takes DISCIPLINE, TIME AND PATIENCE, the 3 great levelers that we can only learn when we know how to suffer gracefully’.

Now you tell me, IS THIS INDICITIVE OF A MENTAL HEALTH DISORDER?

THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
